Understanding the impact of bereavement on children and young people
Bereavement affects children’s health, increasing their risk of anxiety and depression. Bereaved children may:
The aim of this course is to equip you with the skills needed to provide support so that they can be helped to manage the impact of death on their lives.
How this course can help
This short introductory course will support you to better understand the theory that underpins bereavement support. We will include some ideas for practical interventions that can help bereaved children and young people and enable your setting to become ‘bereavement friendly’.
The core outcome of the training will be enabling and building confidence so that you can deliver bereavement care within your own professional setting.
